democ. is an association of journalists, academics and media professionals who together research and analyze anti-democratic movements. We think about how these forces function, why they are gaining strength, and how they can be countered. We make our observations and reflections accessible to the public in articles, videos, workshops and lectures.

Tuija Wigard has been devoting herself to the observation and analysis of anti-democratic movements for years. As a political scientist, she focuses on current manifestations of antisemitism, right-wing extremism and Islamism. Between 2017 and 2019, she worked for the Jewish Forum for Democracy and Against Antisemitism (JFDA) as an editor in the field of monitoring. Since the beginning of 2020 she is a board member of democ.

Linus Pook works as a video journalist dealing with antisemitism and the far right. Following his philosophy and theater science studies, he is currently studying in an interdisciplinary antisemitism research program in Berlin. From 2017 to 2019 he worked for JFDA as an editor, consultant and in the field of political communication. Currently, he is a board member of democ.

Grischa Stanjek is a board member and founding member of democ. and project manager. Previously, he was Director of Communications at the International Institute for Research and Education on Antisemitism (IIBSA) and Head of the Media Department at the Jewish Forum for Democracy and Against Antisemitism (JFDA). He studied Communication Design (BA), Art in Context (MA) and worked as an educational consultant, programmer and photographer.
